The Crimson Alliance

Choosing to Create My Own Publishing Company for My Books

Kevin A Dunlap founder of Green Quill Media (GQM) a book publishing company for the CAU books.

Why I Created Green Quill Media to Publish

When I started self-publishing my science fiction stories, I used my own name in those stories as the publisher. When I wrote my nonfiction books, I used no publisher at all.

This works when writing fiction or for a single book. It may also work when writing a small series.

But I am not building a single book. I am not building a trilogy either.

The Crimson Alliance Universe is something larger. It is a growing fictional world. It began with seven core characters, but it is already expanding beyond them. I am exploring side characters like Frigid in The Tournament of Snowfall. I am developing arcs that branch outward. I am considering entirely new characters who may anchor future stories.

The more I write, the clearer it becomes. This is not a contained project tied to one title. It is an entire universe.

Recent Inspiration

Recently, I have drawn inspiration from expansive worlds like the Star Trek universe and the Star Wars universe. Those stories are not built around a single protagonist. They are built around worlds. Around timelines. Around factions. Across generations. Often these stories never mention the original characters like Han Solo or Jean Luc Picard.

That perspective shifted something in me.

If I want the Crimson Alliance Universe to grow beyond one central storyline, beyond one era, and even beyond the original seven characters, it needs infrastructure. It needs an identity beyond my personal name.

That is why I created Green Quill Media.

GQM gives the CAU a professional foundation. Whether I publish a full-length novel, an interlude (a shorter novel featuring one or two characters), or a shorter Tale, (a specific 5 or 10 chapter story) everything belongs to the same larger structure. Every future ISBN will carry that imprint. If I decide to  release second editions of A Demon’s Rebellion, Cold Front, or Sunlight & Shorelines, they will stand unified under one banner.

This is about thinking bigger. Bigger than one book. Bigger than one series. And, even bigger than one author label.

Cover

My name will always be on the cover. But the universe deserves its own presence.

Green Quill Media is committed to building something that can expand in scope, deepen in complexity, and continue evolving long after the first story was written.

The Crimson Alliance Universe is not just a project.

It is a foundation for something much greater.
